South Africa
Fire up the Land Rover, grab your pith helmet, and practice your best Tarzan yells because this week’s Weekend Road Trip takes us to beautiful South Africa.
Mystery/romance author Terry Odell was kind enough to lead the way through the dark jungles by providing some great photos. Remember, keep your hands and feet inside the car at all times!

Hiking to the lighthouse on Cape Point.
Kruger National Park game drive.
Valley of Desolation.
The Potholes
Victoria Falls
Rainbow Falls
Snow? Bah, humbug…
Beautiful!
So, are you enjoying the snow? Snow can be beautiful too.
Gorgeous photos!
In Pittsburgh, we had that lovely freezing rain crap yesterday, alternating with snow. Really nice to drive in.
Mid-eighties here, scattered bursts of rain. We never got winter.
South Africa certainly looks better than New England looks today. We got about a foot of snow last night.
(Oops — clicking the tab key sent my message) — the blog entries would be in December, so you’ll have to hit the archives.
Lots more pictures there, plus where we went, what we did.
Thanks to Lee for posting these (even if we were never near a jungle). I’ve got more photos of the trip on my website, and a journal on my blog, if anyone’s interested.

Oof – that earlier post of mine is Typo City. Sorry about that. It’s time for me to cut back on the caffeine. 😳
I tot I taw a puddy-tat!! =:-o
Anywya, these are magnificent photos, Terry. Thanks you so much for sharing. South Africa looks wonderful. Thanks for the weekend photo trip.
Gorgeous. Makes me want to go. Although photo #4 looks a lot like the road that goes out of Bakersfield, up into the high dessert, past by Lake Isabella, in California! 🙂
I love these weekend photo shoots.
Ah, Johnny Weissmuller!
As kids we were regaled with sotries of how our father had raced against him in high school. They were on opposing swim teams. Although Dad was one his school’s best swimmers, he lost to Weissmuller every time. 🙂
