Sacrifice For Me: Joe Bonsall and The Oak Ridge Boys
“So I can live
In the Land Of Free
Raise my kids
Live my dreams
There’s a price
For liberty”
Here is a very special video presentation honoring the Sacrifice made by so many so that we can live in The LAND of FREE.
*As always, my thanks to Joe Bonsall for his unwavering, faithful support of our men and women in uniform. Joe’s love of our country is, and always will be, an inspiration.
Have to agree with Simone Cooper. Stacy Allen did an amazing job with this song. I couldn’t stop the tears.
Very nice — and thanks. I did my service in the Army from 1965 to 1968 and came home unscathed. And then I learned that four of my best friends in high school weren’t so lucky. Memorial Day went from being a fun barbeque and the Indy 500 into something altogether different and somber, and I never forgot it…or them.
Stacy Allen treated us to her rendition, Simone. In fact, Stacy was the first to comment here today.
No recording will ever beat the lovely rendition of this we heard at the end of Writer’s Police Academy, 2012. Can you remind me of the guitarist / singer’s name? She was really special.
Thank you for organizing that and sharing it with us. 🙂

I shall always appreciate the opportunity to play/sing this song. Such amazing lyrics. Thank you Oak Ridge Boys, and Lee, thank you as well.
