I always come here on Fridays to see which brothers and sisters we’ve lost in the week. I would love to see more Fridays with blank pages devoid of names. We ended 2011 with too many losses, and we’ve started 2012 losing too many more already.

It’s with sadness that I read these names. I feel a bond with every agency that losses an officer. Every cop does. Yet, I have to say my heart is an even heavier stone in my chest today. Today his family’s laying to rest SA John Capano, an officer with whom I shared the same badge and swore the same oath. Rest in peace, brother.

Lee, thanks for honoring the sacrifice John and all of these fellow officers have made.
